Sirocco Necklace

Here's another one-of-a-kind piece that sold recently at the Bowen Island Summer Market, a very cute and laid back craft fair that happens every weekend on Bowen Island.  This necklace was one of my faves, and actually hard to part with. But, as I lay out my jewelry that morning, I thought, today's your day Sirocco Necklace.  And low and behold.... to the lovely new owner... you look great in it! If you're reading this, send me some pics of you all dressed up for the wedding.  Or upload them to my Facebook page. Enjoy!

Buffy Sainte-Marie

photo via Aquarium Drunkard
Currently enamoured with Buffy St-Marie.  Saw a great doc on Knowledge Network the other night about her legendary life.  Folk star, aboriginal activist, and digital media artist.... not to mention her amazing taste in jewelry!  Great article here.

Beautiful day at the Autumn Shift Festival last Saturday on Main Street! Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table at the Blim Market and contributed a smile and some kind words.  What an amazing feeling to close the streets off to cars.  Here's a list of car-free zones from Car Free Cities.  I love the idea that car-free zones build peaceful communities.  I'm a fan of the slow city movement - Cittaslow, and was pretty stoked to see that Cowichan Bay, BC is Canada's first Cittaslow community.  Vancouver doesn't have any car-free zones that I know of.  Do you?

NEW jewelry at the Blim Monthly Market this Sunday!

I'll be donating part of my sales to the
Ancient Forest Alliance
a new BC organization working to protect our endangered old-growth forests....

Can't make it to
Blim this Sunday?

Sign the AFA's petition to protect British Columbia’s endangered old-growth forests like the Avatar Grove in Port Renfrew, BC.

Thank yous

Thank you to everyone who came by my table at the Blim Market last Sunday.  I'm working on posting up all remaining pieces in my Etsy shop.  Thanks especially to the kind new owner of this one-of-a-kind necklace. I call it the lighting storm.  I hope you're enjoying it (I kinda' miss it).  If you're out there, drop me a line sometime and let me know how it's doing....

Sneak peak

Here's a sneak peak at the jewelry I've been making. It's vintage brass and glass all knotted and looped up....  I'm getting ready for a couple of shows this spring, starting with the Blim Market on Sunday, April 25th. Stay tuned for a shop update in the next few weeks...
